About Us

Chris Chapman and Adrian Hare

Threecircles Audio is a state of the art recording studio near Saffron Walden, Essex, within easy reach of London, Cambridge, Bishop’s Stortford, Chelmsford and Colchester. Run by Chris Chapman (standing) and Ade Hare (seated) we offer a wide range of services including; recording for singer-songwriters, album projects for bands, song production and a full complement of live sound reinforcement and recording services.

Chris holds a degree in Audio Engineering from ARU in Cambridge, created Threecircles Audio and started the Saffron Walden Battle of the Bands competition. In his time as a freelance sound engineer Chris works with many bands, artists and organisations including the Cambridge Philharmonic Orchestra.

Ade studied for a Diploma from The Alchemea School of Audio Engineering in London and graduated top of his class before landing a job at Trevor Horn’s Sarm West Studios in London. There he gained an insight into the running of a major recording complex and also got to meet Jimmy Page, Rachel Stevens, Emma Bunton and Sir Paul McCartney amongst many others.

In 2004 Chris was approached by the Saffron Walden Town Council to provide a specification for an in-house sound system. This led to the pair meeting as Ade had provided theatre sound in the Town hall for many productions for the Saffron Walden Musical Theatre Company. Chris and Ade discovered a shared passion for music and decided to become business partners. Less than five months later Threecircles Audio was born after renovating a disused building on Ade’s parent’s farm. The studio opened for business on the 19th of April 2006 and is going from strength to strength.
